MEET THE SECRETARIAT

Lina Ghaoui
Secretary-General
Hi all! My name is Lina Ghaoui and it is a true privilege to serve as your Secretary-General for DCMUN 2026. I am in my second year in the Law, Society, and Justice profile and I started my MUN journey as a delegate close to a year ago. This conference holds a special place in my heart—from coaching a delegation in 2025 to launching the DCMUN Market with Dawson’s student-led businesses, I’ve had the joy of watching our community grow. What makes our conference stand out is the joy, the creativity, and the space we create for innovation. As we look ahead to another unforgettable weekend, I am excited to witness the imagination, courage, and collaboration you will bring in every room. Whether you're here to challenge yourself, connect with others, or simply try something new, know that you belong here. We cannot wait to welcome you in January and have you discover what DCMUN is all about!

Bassma Al Atrache
Under-Secretary-General of the General Assembly and the Economic and Social Council
Hi everyone! My name is Bassma Al Atrache, and I’m a second-year Health Science student. This year, I’m so excited to serve as your Under-Secretary-General of General Assemblies for the Dawson College Model United Nations Conference 2026! While I only joined the MUN circuit last year, my five consecutive years on my high school’s student council gave me the skills to thrive in MUN. So if you’re ever worried that others have more experience than you—don’t be! It’s never too late to try something new and succeed. This upcoming MUN season, I’m especially looking forward to meeting our new MUNtees (a.k.a. first years!), I can’t wait to watch you grow and shine throughout the year. Outside of MUN, I love traveling, doing pilates, reading, and exploring new coffee shops around Montreal. Fun fact about me: I played violin for over seven years growing up! After immigrating to Canada, I drifted away from it for a while, but I’m now working on returning to my original playing level.

Julian Haldane Ainsworth
Under-Secretary-General of Specialized Agencies
Hello, I’m Julian Haldane-Ainsworth, Under-Secretary-General of Specialized Agencies and a second year Liberal Arts student. Stepping into the first training session at DCMUN last year was one of the best decisions I have made in Cegep. Besides honing my debating skills, DCMUN brought me into an incredible community where I made lasting friendships. At the DCMUN conference last year, I participated as a delegate in my first crisis committee. The staff were some of the most welcoming and dedicated volunteers that I’ve seen at any conference. Last year, they helped me navigate my first crisis and made me feel welcome. This year, I have the honor of working with a brilliant team and continuing the DCMUN tradition.

Ella Knitter
Under-Secretary-General of Crisis
Hi my name is Ella Knitter! I am a second year General Social Science student and am honoured to serve as DCMUN 2026’s Under-Secretary-General of Crisis! Having entered DCMUN 2025 having done Model UN before I can truly say that the bond shared amongst the DCMUN team is like no other! Out of the stressfulness of the committee, DCMUN manages to create a collaborative and passionate environment. Some of my most favourite memories of DCMUN 2025 have been getting to know all of the incredible people that make up this organization! Having staffed Dawson's conference last year I truly got to see firsthand the hard work and determination that went on to put on this incredible conference. This year I am so honoured to be able to contribute to this amazing Secretariat level and to elevate our crisis committees to new levels. My role for DCMUN 2026 as the Under-Secretary-General of Crisis is to bring chaos to delegates over the course of the weekend and I hope to create an environment for delegates to have fun but also improve their crisis skills.

Ye Da Gao
Director of External Affairs and Outreach
Hi, I'm Ye Da, DCMUN 2026 External Affairs Director and a second-year international business major. DCMUN 2025 was unforgettable. I came for the debates, but stayed for the people, the food, and the friendships that lasted far beyond the weekend. My favorite memory was running into a delegate weeks after the conference and knowing how real the bonds we shared were. What if a conference could challenge you, motivate you, and become a home away from home all at the same time? That's DCMUN. It's bilingual, inclusive, and built on real community. This year, I’m focused on growing our outreach, welcoming new delegates and schools, and helping bring everything to life through creative decorations and immersive energy.

Tessa Twijuke
Director of Equity
Hi, I’m Tessa Twijuke, and I’m honoured to be one of your Equity Directors for DCMUN 2026! I first joined MUN at Dawson with zero experience, stepping into my first committee feeling both nervous and excited. Since then, Model UN has been a journey full of milestones, growth, and new friendships. My favorite memory so far is representing DCMUN at NAMUN 2025 in Toronto; not only because of the fun outside of committee sessions but also because of my passionate participation within the committee. As Equity Director, my role is to ensure every delegate feels included, comfortable, and empowered to participate fully. What truly makes DCMUN unique is our dedication to inclusivity and genuine community, welcoming every voice and background.

Hugo Tousignant
Director of Equity
Hello everyone! I’m Hugo Tousignant, and I am proud to be serving as one of your Equity Directors for the DCMUN 2026 conference. If I can summarize DCMUN 2025 in one word, it would be hospitality. Whether it is the diverse committees, amazing chairs and Secretariat or the welcoming and friendly conference environment, I truly felt empowered and at home in my second ever conference. I look forward to meeting new delegates and seeing them thrive in our wonderful conference and unique committees. Both in French and in English and alongside my fellow Equity Director, it will be my pleasure to make sure every delegate feels safe and welcomed throughout their whole experience at DCMUN 2026.

Hillary Pierre Alexis Under-Secretary-General of Public Relations
Hi everyone! I’m Hillary Pierre Alexis, and I’m honoured to be serving as one of the Under-Secretary-Generals of Public Relations for DCMUN 2026. I’m a second-year student in the Law, Society, and Justice program at Dawson College. Like many, I joined MUN to stay involved and try something new, but I was amazed to find such a welcoming and inspiring community. Through DCMUN, I’ve made amazing friends, built skills I never imagined having, and grown in ways I’ll always be grateful for. I’m so excited to help create that same experience for others this year. I can’t wait to work with this year’s incredible Secretariat and make DCMUN 2026 a conference to remember. Until then, see you soon!
